Chris ‘The Spaniard’ Lambert Wins the NPF Championships 2012

Chris ‘The Spaniard’ Lambert is the latest NPF Champion outlasting the 92 runner field winning the champion status, trophy, bracelet and £1380.

This was the first year without the legendary card guard kid on the mic due to him not being well. However, he was able to start the tournament off over the phone for everyone to hear bringing an emotional start to the tournament.

Day 1 finished with 19 players and Catherine ‘Lucky’ Johnstone the overnight chip leader on 164,000. Players steadily exited before we got to a final table where we lost playa on the bubble and Stu Costa in 10th in a 3 way all in, Nutflush knocking them both out with JJ.

The final table was as follows:

We lost JDJnr in the first hand after his A4 came up against KK and QQ.

The final table did not find many big action hands and we eventually got to heads up after the Spaniard knocked out Heppy85 the short stack.

The chips were very even at heads up and average 40 big blinds in play, however it only lasted 3 hands as Lucky’s re raise bluff on the turn was called by The Spaniard’s top pair to win the Championship.
