Carol Thatcher has been sacked for being a big racist.. it seems you can't say anything these days without running a risk of losing your job. Admittedly she did describe an unnamed professional tennis player as looking like a 'golliwog', so it's slightly justified this time i think.
I know who she is talking about but i don't want to say who, just incase that makes me a racist too.
Scott will know

Got no Idea if she is racist or not, probably just a little niave so in this instance I would give her the benefit of the doubt.
However she should be sacked in any case for being a Thatcher, the seed of the evil witch herself.

Didn't know EXACTLY who it was, at first, but it's easy enough to guess, especially as it's a male player.
To be fair, she didn't say it on-screen. Not condoning it, but for this to have come out is a bit harsh and it seems like a witch hunt due to her being a Thatcher. I think, to her, she didn't use it as a derogatory term, just a descriptive one. But she should remember that the term has been used in derogatory ways, so it can't be done.
Anyway, overreaction by the BBC, poor form for whoever grassed her up and poor from her to actually say "golliwog".

Surely she must be aware that unless she literally bursts into flames after saying that word, there will be consequences, joking or not. He had a blow-out afro so its an obvious observation to make, but you try saying that at work and see what happens.

Good point. I guess whether it's a private conversation or not, it is her place of work at the time.
