Default The Philli Stable

ok as some people know i have been backing players over the past 6 months. with good success.

i decided i enjoyed doing this but imo live/online tournis are never gona be as consistant as they have been. also last yr whilst grinding ftops at joblings house with howard and buzz they asked me for help/coaching and i said ok next yr i will come up with something tht will help you but also make me a bit of money.

so i came up with the original idea of The Philli Stable

the blog link is:

http://thephillistable.blogspot.com/...li-stable.html

so you can read the orig ideas.

what i havnt said on there is that from every month from april 1st onwards i will be getting more players in to do a trial month and become a stable member (i plan to have a minimum of 15 by 2011). so if ne 1 is interested give me a shout and we can try it.

like the blog says the trial month is going to be so diff from what is actually gona happen from march 1st onwards so dont cling onto the "140 hours" thing as im going to do it by hands etc. will all be put on the blog on march 1st.

hope you follow this, all members are npfers and would deff appreciate the support as alot of live tournaments will be happening monthly for them.

appreciate the time to read.

NJOY

PEACE!

Good luck to people taking part. Id wish jon luck but everyone he stakes/sponsors wins....

I can see how its a good opportunity for some of them to build a bankroll and have their BRM managed more closely. Theres a couple of names there Im quite surprised want/need staked; guessing they just see this as safer and an opportunity to learn and trade ideas.

Also jon; do you feel that grinding cash is the right route for all those guys? Obviously its the most previlant way to make cash/rake online but alot of the individuals have shown a fair degree of success at sngs or tourneys and feel its a bit of a waste to send them down this route- cash being a totally different scenario and good tourney/sng players can rarely mix with great success in all areas.

I felt at least half were on the right route with what their doing and maybe instead of cash you could just create a propoker environment and keep them on the right track.

Goodluck with it anyway

yeh it deff is a risk trying to turn them all into cash game players and yeh they myt feel theyve waste the time theyve prev put into sngs and tournis. but for me cash is always the most consistant way of showing profit and thts all i can really coach them in. its been a long time since i played sngs and iv never really njoyed tournis. i spoke to the lads about playing cash games and they all agreed cash was what they wanted to learn and grind.

also i did a 2 week thing with buzz in december. i coached him etc and he showed a 18 buy in win in this first 2 weeks. this is obv massive but it proves sng players can become cash game players. also sam j and howard have been dabbling in ipoker and stars cash games over the past 10 days and have shown small but consistant profit. so a good sample have show they can take to it.

remember cos they was sng players theyve obv learnt how to multil table and to do alot of hours. so all they need to do now is adapt their games.

in the philli blog they will be posting their own bits on how their finding cash games etc.

this is an experiment, iv never done backing in this way and theyve never been backed in such a way. so fingers crossed they all take to it.

tytytyty for support to every1 else who has posted on this thread.

PEACE

Theres no reason why any of them cant be good cash players and I concur its the "best" way to play online. Some of them I felt had already found their game/route and it wasnt necessary to try cash but they may take too it or be able to adapt quickly. Hope at the very least noones alround game is effected by their defection to cash.

Sounds a bit like good players becoming rake drones to me (not necessarily a bad thing if they can get the volume) and not utilising already adapted skills- perhaps not directly anyway. With the exception of maybe milo I think if they were meant to play in such a way they would have found the knack for it already.

Be interesting reading no doubt, no reason why any of them guys cant make solid profits.
