well its over for another year - and after spending the last 2 hours not speaking and reflecting on the event i have a few things i would like to say.
Firstly, and this is 100% genuine - congratualtions to the NPF 2010 champions
The Sensations
over the 2 days of the tournament as i went from table after table to commentate on the play and i have to say their play was exemplary. I saw great calls, folds and ships from all of their team and its give me great pride and pleasure because i consider them good friends to say that the play from andrizou, spoona and especially stevie sensation was top quality poker and shows these players are on a different level. the sense really really impressed with his non stop aggression, and some of the tables he was on yesterday had some very very good players on, who all told me later that he was one of the hardest players they had played against - true testament to the how far his game has come on and just how good a player he actually is - and if i am honest i was gutted for him that he did not win the tournament outright - because from all the play i watched over the 2 days his was the most impressive. I am a Dobba, and obviously am gutted my classy teamates did not win, but in my opinion the best team won and we as dobbas should be proud to have come 2nd to a great team - really well played SENSATIONS the NPF should be proud to have yo as the 2010 champions.
My personal congratulations go to Phil Scott of Ace of Clubs for winning the individual trophy, he played very very well and basically owned the final 2 tables and was a well deserved winner and his win secured 3rd place overall for his team - who by the way are a small forum and made up of some lovely people including louise and mike who are always a pleasure to meet up with and play some poker with.
For me it was nice to get the chance to meet up with great ' friends ' i have known through playing poker all over the country - too many to name them all but shout out to John from raise the river - we always have a good craic at the APAT games, the guys from breakers, jabber from KK(thanks for the £100

) the geordie poker nutters and the lovely lovely people from the uk sharks.
ok i have a few people to thank for their efforts in making sure this weekend went as smoothly as i had hoped - i made a promise to DC that i would make sure his and scotts tournament was the best that the North East would have hosted - i think we got there and these people made it possible
Craig Foggo - Mr e - we spent 2 weeks in total sorting the music out for this game, changing, re changing and then finalising - plus it was his input to have the World series intros at the beginning and IMO that was a master stroke - it set the tourney off as we wanted it to continue(videos of intros will be up this week

) Also for providing me with a PA system, cueing all the music, giving me a great intro and stepping in to help with commentary when my throat could not take anymore - top guy and ya know i love ya
herbiehackett - for providing the PA system for day 2 as MrE's was unavailable - life saver mate most appreciated
Mark Hunter - mark has been available for me 24 hours a day 7 days a week for last 3 months and i must have called him 50 times with different requests and each time he has been responsive, helpful and accommodating. He was responsible for everything that has happened over the weekend, including the GUKPT tables, the chips, the buffets, the added prizes, the dealers and allowing us to probably piss of the regulars with all the noise we made. We have all been quick to criticise the G but this guy has bent over backwards for us for both the birthday game and this weekend and we all owe him a great big thank you for his efforts.
Lee Varzee - an NPF member and imo the best asset the G has in regards to poker - he can see things from both sides and knows what needs doing. His running around over the 2 days was non stop and the way he allowed me to take over and then link in with me was pure class and speaks volumes for the guy - Varzee we all love ya mate thank you
The Big Cheese - same as above - this guy is a legend in the making and just like lee he allowed me to take over and fell in seamlessly. under pressure yesterday when he had 2 tourneys and 3 cash tables to deal with there were no problems and he again is someone we at the NPF love
The Dealers - having come in for some stick recently i think i speak for everyone when i say they were fantastic, they joined in with the banter, dealt flawlessly and i cant remember one mistake from anywhere - again a top top effort from you all and anyone from the G management can you please pass on our thanks to them all
AZBO
BENDYSTASH
RUBES
THE GAME
MCKINNEY
a really big thanks for giving up your spare time to come and deal for us - it is really really appreciated and a lot of the players whose tables you where on have asked me to pass on their thanks too - great job guys
ROSCOPIKO - knocked out pretty early to a bad beat he stayed around for the rest of the tourney over 2 days and brought to the forum probably the best and most informative updates we have ever had - i have read them all and can honestly say they are spot on and anyone reading them will have been kept up to date and felt they were almost there - awesome awesome job my friend thank you
My wife - MRSCG - firstly congrats on making day 2 for the 2nd year running and your eventual 22nd place finish - hard for me to commentate on her exit hand as i so wanted her to win - and also im very proud as i had at least 15 of the other teams players come up to me a nd say what a lovely lady she was - love ya babes
Mrs E - very proud of you too for going so deep for 2nd year running and again hard to commentate on her exit hand as i so so wanted her to win too
To all the other teams who took part - it was our pleasure to host you for the 2 days, you lot made the tournament and i only hope you all come back next year - where will we try to make it even better(lol nee idea how yet)
For me after the last few weeks i wanted this tournament to be perfect, i had promised scott and dave it would be and i was determined to make it be. I think we succeeded and i think over the next few weeks we can look back and be very very proud of the success of this tourny and really what we have acheived as a forum in a short space of time. There are lots and lots of very very nice people of the NPF and i personally can class most of these as friends - and comments from these people have forced me to re think my plans for the future - if im honest i think the NPF needs me, just as i need the NPF.
Enjoyed this weekend so so much so a final big thank you from me to everyone who made it great
