Default NPF UK Team Challenge: Thread 78

I was about to begin a rare blog post, but for whatever reason i have somehow broken through the tinterweb forcefield that surrounds the NPF @ work, so i'll post this here while i have the opportunity.

What can i say about the weekend that hasn't already been said. Such a brilliant event, with an awesome atmosphere throughout, and that was just Day 1 (Unfortunately i couldn't justify the endless onslaught of grief i'd have gotten from the missus had i returned to rail day 2), gutted i couldn't be there for the celebrations boys.

Absolute 10 out of 10 for the effort put in from all those behind the scenes (and infront) to make this event the game to play in the poker calendar. To s2c, TD, CGK, MRE, Varzee, Cheese, all G staff and all the volunteer dealers, a big big big wpwpwp to you all for running the show without a hitch. Seemless from start to finish.

Twas good to sit with a few characters virtually all day long, a couple of Kracked Kings lads made the afternoon quite comical.

I wish i could complete this post without a negative, but with Day 1 drawing to a close, unfortunately i found one. For some reason (i assume drink) there was one person on our (mine and Buzz) table late on who insisted on being the most aggressive, awkward player at the table. Folding out of turn 5 hands in a row, despite being told by the dealer each time to stop doing it. On the 5th occurance said player took it upon himself to take (in his words) "a minute to act" from then on. Buzz, having none of it, called a clock instantly, as he was tanking without even looking at his cards. Things almost got out of hand when the same player started telling our railing team members to "Fuck off away from the table" but luckily CGK was there to step in and cool things down.

The high spirits this game was played in, i just cant understand where all this aggression comes from, and quite frankly was totally unacceptable, we're all there to have a good time, and i thought this spoiled the game somewhat towards the end of what had been a great day.

All in all, superb event, ran perfectly by all involved, just spoilt a little by someone old enough to know better.

My hat goes off to Dave (for suggesting it before hand) and the rest of the Sensations for making the generous donation to what will soon become renamed 'The Mumsy Walker Foundation'.

KUPTG lads.

I remember something going off. If I remember correctly CGK said "This is our team event, we want this atmosphere, if you don't like it, don't come back"

understand ya highlighting the minor negative point Keith as his sidekick was similar on our table and I also called clock once when he raised massive to get shipped by small stack and with 1200 to put into summit like a 15k pot goes into tank mode????? Fuck that pal get ya fkn monies in man and hurry up n stop fucking about was what was said to him in no umcertain manner.

Twat scooped pot as well

Anyway point of this reply was the 2 guys concerned did come up to myself and Cardguard before the start of day 2 and apologised for their behaviour and the demon drink was the root of it all
