Default Hand yesterday.

Sitting on a stack of approx 95k.

Blinds 1200/2400 - 200ante.

Recently been moved to this table.

Opened 1 pot in cut off which took down the blinds with a 5100 raise and drunkenly/proudly showed your new table friends 8 3 off.

You've started a conversation with Jonathan Butters, who seems to be a reg and is known on BlondePoker where in a post, they mentioned it would be interesting if I wound him up, so of course I had to try.

You're wanting to be table captain and that should be the impression you're giving.

Utg + 2 - You look as you're pretty early position, and you have and make it your usual raise of 5100.

Pot is approxmiately 1800antes + 3600 blinds. 5400 in the middle.

Folds around to a Chinese guy with big shades on who quickly moves in for approxmiately 40k. Near enough half your stack. It's folded round to you.

You mention the fact that he seems pretty happy and must want a call. He giggles but you notice a slight nervousness in it.

So, for half your stack, and the fact that you're hoovering chips up left, right and centre OR you have been. You're on a new table now. Chip leader two to your left. Maybe thinks won't be the same...

Do you call here?

Not the whole 60 40 thing?

That's not to say 'scared money' and all.

I thought I was ahead.

But, let's say I know I'm ahead, let's say I know his hand.

Still call?

Srsly? I fold. You have Ace high...

I need a better read than 'sensh drunk, v maybe nervous but maybe not caus I've been at the table for like three orbits' to call off with Ace high here.

Fold is ok but if you play to win it's worth a shot to take him out as you still have chip average if you loose. The big shove looks pretty weak and your probably only 60% fav for 50% of your chips. If it's really that easy to pick up chips them let it go but doubt I would. Play to win and call his ass.

Remember you should be decision orientated not results orientated. You got it in good.

Cant say i agree with this, he has double chip avg, why would he want to risk half his chips? AQcc is a nice hand, but a nice hand to shove with not to call a shove imo. He also says that he is hoovering chips up, on a new table that wont know how he is playing, i never ever call here. May be nitty of me, but i dont like to risk half my chips when im double chip avg with AQ

It's obviously the end of day 1, you'll lose all momentum if you lose the hand, you'll be sober and be furious at day 2.

well written description Mr Gibson and good question tbh

Your on a roll and full of drink so in this situation your calling all day and with stack size you still in decent position if you loose.

As for what I would do:

For me its simply all situation dependant and how Im feeling the guy. Im not a technical player and never will be so my decision would be made from the previous information and relevant stack situation at that moment in time. If Im feeling that my AQ is ahead of his range then Id call all day obv but in the time youve had at the table being the info Ive got in front of me then Id probaly of folded the majority of times due to my cautious nature and style and waited for a better spot. I obv understand your disappointment when you make the call and he flips 9 10 to then lose the flip but pretty standard stuff his ship imo not expecting your call.

Overall Im sure youve added some more valuable experience to your armour and your big win is very close in coming.

If villian has me covered and shoves I fold, big difference here for me. FFS, were going to have to take a few big flips to win this thing, simply can't chip up and get it in as 70%+ all tournament, just doesn't work like that.
